A Month of…

A Month of Stuff was born out of a momentary flash of genius. Okay, maybe not genius, but it was a darn good idea. I wanted to host a BlogParty – a blogging “event” centered around a theme that gets other bloggers involved. Having a background in theatre, being a writer, and having two toddlers makes me prone to make believe. I am a chronic day dreamer. And I was convinced that others were too.

Internet marketing professional by day, mom blogger by night (and early morning), I follow a lot of of moms online (via Twitter) in a variety of professions. So many of their blogs are unique, cutting edge, touching, phenomenal that I wanted to start featuring some of them on my blog. But how do I go about doing that?

So there you have it – two concurrent thoughts swimming through my mind that collided and formed a moment of inspiration: 31 Days of Make Believe. I wrote a post, sent a couple notes out via social networking sites I participate in as well as Twitter and before I knew it I had 40 responses – for 31 open spots. Hating to tell people no, I expanded it to spread across two blogs and 62 posts. In a matter of days every spot was filled.

I knew there were tons of bloggers out there that I could feature like this and rather than convert my Positive Blog into a featured blogger format, I decided to start anew. So, A Month of Stuff was born.

The concept is simple – every month there is a new theme. Everyday there is a new blogger. Bloggers have the chance to sign up for themes in advance. If they are chosen, they receive interview questions via email and that conversation is posted here. I take suggestions for new themes and I try to rotate the bloggers that are featured so that new faces can join the crowd.

So take a look around, I’m sure you will find a lot of new bloggers to meet and blogs to read. Maybe you would like to be featured. Be sure to watch for new themes to sign up for. And thank you for joining us at A Month of Stuff.
